Our houses are completely full of electricity, right? This is why electricity is now the major cause of accidental fires in UK homes. We don’t seem to realise how dangerous our wires and appliances can be.

Statistics show that electricity causes over 20,000 fires a year, which is more than half of all accidental fires in houses. Every year, around 350,000 people are injured due to an electrical accident in their homes.

And that is why it is so important to get safety checks regularly, even when you can’t see an issue, electricians may be able to find a life threatening problem with your wires.

Now you shouldn’t just pick the first person you see, picking the right person is crucial! You need someone who has knowledge, skills, experience and is fully qualified in order to avoid putting themselves and you in any danger.

Here is a list of my qualifications, so you know you can trust my work and feel safe in your home:

I got my GCSE Maths and English a few years ago. Then I got…
City & Guilds Pt 1, Pt 2 & ‘C course’ in Electrical Installations
City & Guilds Level 3 Inspection, Testing & Certificates
City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate of Competence for Inspection & Testing
BTEC ONC Engineering
BTEC HNC Engineering
17th Edition Regulations BS7671
Also, NAPIT tests and assesses my work every year to check that I’m still a competent sparky. They also guarantee my work so if there are ever any disputes about my work, you can go straight to them. NAPIT gives me and my customers or clients peace of mind.

Please check when you last got a safety check and get in touch as soon as possible if you haven’t yet had one!
